Ron Sims: Fine artist and artist-printmaker
With Ron Sims, within his art, his paintings and his prints, there are fine-tuned, and sometimes discordant relationships between colours and tones, where tension and conflicts are unified by the geometric shapes and the hard edges enclosing them, along with three-dimensional effects. Designs are explored with incongruous and unusual ideas, continuous explorations of form, and anthropomorphic qualities, which animates the inanimate. Photo-montage is used in printmaking, often within a hard-edge framework, relating to earlier designs which had a Pop-Art influence.
